9/4: Safe SuperIntelligence (Palo Alto, CA), a new safety-focused AI startup formed by OpenAI co-founder Illya Sutskever, raised $1B of venture funding from Andreesen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, and DST Global. The deal places the company’s pre-money valuation at $4B. (Link)
